On July 13, 2023, Youth Union Chapter of PV GAS South East Transmission Company (KDN) (hereinunder referred to as “the Chapter”) held a conference to review their performance in 2023’s first half and discuss directions in the next one.

That Maran Gas Achilles successfully berthed at Thi Vai LNG terminal at 10:00AM on July 10, 2023 has truly marked an important turning point for Vietnam gas industry, in which PV GAS continues to play a pioneering role, towards green energy and sustainable development.

At 10:00 AM, July 10, 2023, PV GAS has marked Vietnam’s very beginning in the green transition by receiving the LNG carrier, Maran Gas Achilles, tasked with transporting the first 70,000 tons of LNG, entering Cai Mep Port in Ba Ria-Vung Tau from Bontang, Indonesia.

Mr. Pham Van Phong, President & CEO of PV GAS, chaired separated meetings with Novatek (Russia) and ExxonMobil (USA) to explore business opportunities in the liquefied natural gas (LNG) sector. Assisting the CEO were Mr. Huynh Quang Hai - Vice President and managers from the company’s divisions and units.
 

To welcome the Congress of Trade Unions at all levels, "PMC RUN - Step by Step" running contest was organized in an online format, taking place over 21 days, starting from 00:01 on June 5, 2023 to 00:01 on June 26, 2023. This was a sports activity dedicated to all PMC’s employees, aiming to be part of the movement of "The whole nation exercising to follow the great example of Uncle Ho."

The Power Development Plan for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050 (PDP 8), has identified the share of LNG-fueled power to be over 14.9% of the total national installed power source capacity by 2030, which is expected to help ensure a sufficient, stable, and safe supply for the national power system.

As part of the series of activities to celebrate the 4th Congress of PV GAS Trade Union (term 2023 – 2028), with great support of the Party Committee of the Corporation, on June 24th, the "PV GAS Mass Art Festival 2023" was organized and took place at Quan doi phia Nam Theatre.

As part of the series of activities to celebrate the 4th Congress of PV GAS Trade Union (term 2023 – 2028), the photo contest "The Beauty within People in PV GAS Trade Unions" carried practical significance in showing everyone the image and culture of the company. Nearly 500 photographs of over 120 authors’ from affiliated trade unions were all artworks to be honored, brimmed with “Fueling Values to Life” spirit, affirming and strengthening the tradition of photography activities that have existed and well-developed at PV GAS.

On June 15th, Mr. Le Manh Hung - General Director of Petrovietnam, had a meeting with PV GAS with the topic of the company’s business performance for the first 6 months of 2023 and implementation of the business plan for the second half. Assisting with Mr. Le Manh Hung, on PVN’s side, there were Mr. Tran Binh Minh – Member of the Board of Members, Mr. Do Chi Thanh and Mr. Le Xuan Huyen – Deputy General Directors with representatives of the Group’s divisions joining online. 

Based on Decision No. 641-QD/DU and Decision No. 642-QD/DU dated June 2, 2023 by the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam or PVN) regarding personnel work of the Party Secretary and Deputy Party Secretary of PetroVietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV GAS) for the 2020-2025 term and Decision No. 2805/QD-HDTV dated April 26, 2023 of the Board of Directors (BOD) of PVN on authorizing the management of capital contribution of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group to PV GAS, along with the approval of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Group, on June 15, 2023, the Party Committee of PV GAS held an announcement ceremony focusing on their decisions on high-level candres.

The emerging Vietnam is going through a “green shift” in its production and manufacturing for economic growth in accordance with environmental protection. And PV GAS has what it takes to be pioneering in importing LNG - a bridging source of energy, ensuring the country’s energy security as well as promoting the development of domestic industries.

The global gas market has undergone drastic changes this past year. 2023 was said to be the first full calendar year of minimal Russian pipeline flows to Europe, causing heavy impacts on the rest of the global gas market right after the announcement. The most recognizable one was the abnormal fluctuations in LNG price levels due to the switch of traditional Russian pipeline buyers in Europe to the US and the Middle East – key LNG suppliers for Asian markets.
