PV GAS named as one of 7 Vietnamese enterprises with revenue of more than VND 100 trillion in 2022

According to statistics of SSI Securities, as of the beginning of February, there were 1,029 enterprises reporting their earnings in the last quarter of 2022, accounting for only 64% of enterprises on the Vietnam’s stock market (including HOSE, HNX and UPCoM) but holding 97% of the market capitalization. The 1,029 enterprise’s revenue in the fourth quarter of 2022 totaled VND100,000 trillion, an increase of 6.5% over the same period of 2021.

The enterprise with the largest net revenue in the stock market in 2022 was Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex - Code: PLX) with more than VND 304 trillion, an increase of 80% from 2021 and the highest of all time.

The second spot in the revenue ranking was taken by Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Joint Stock Company (Code: BSR) - the operator of Dung Quat Oil Refinery. Last year, Binh Son Refinery and Petrochemical Joint Stock Company earned more than VND 167 trillion, an increase of 65% from the revenue in 2021 and its record.

Besides Petrolimex and Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Joint Stock Company, the "100 trillion club" of 2022 also had two other representatives in the oil and gas sector, namely Petrovietnam Oil Corporation (PVOIL - Code: OIL) and Petrovietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV GAS - Code: GAS).

Accumulated in 2022, PV GAS revenue reached VND 100.7 trillion - an increase of 28% compared to 2021; after-tax profit was more than VND15 trillion, 70% higher than 2021. With these results, 2022 was the year PV GAS set a record of highest revenue and profit since its establishment.

As of December 31, 2022, total assets of PV GAS were worth VND 82.8 trillion, an increase of 9% from the beginning of the year; its equity was VND 61.3 trillion, including investment and development fund of more than VND 21 trillion, and VND19.2 trillion for undistributed after- tax profit.

On the stock market, GAS was one of the few stocks which kept prices stable at a high level, despite the strong downward market in the past year. By February 2022, GAS still kept the level of more than VND 100,000/share; generally, over the past year, GAS had a stable price, a slight increase of nearly 1%.

Thus, Vietnam's stock market currently has 7 enterprises with revenue exceeding the milestone of VND 100 trillion in 2022, among them, the oil and gas industry had 4 representatives, and 3 other corporations: The Gioi Di Dong, Hoa Phat and Vingroup.
