PV GAS 33rd Anniversary Celebration: Spreading Green Energy Journey

Right on Petrovietnam Gas Corporation - PV GAS’ date of establishment (20/9/1990 – 20/9/2023), the anniversary celebration was held. A new promising chapter “Green Energy Journey” has been envisioned.

Participating in the ceremony were PV GAS leaders including Mr. Pham Van Phong -Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Member of the Board of Directors, and President & CEO, the Standing Committee, Board of Directors, Board of Controllers, and Vice Presidents, the Chairman of the Labor Union, the Youth Union Secretary, and representatives from various political and social organizations, as well as representatives from the Executive Office and units.

PV GAS has always remained proactive and resilient in befitting its role as the leading unit of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN) and the flagship of Vietnam’s gas industry, contributing significantly to national energy security and making important strides in the country’s “green shift”. In light of that, this was an event to honor and celebrate the spirit of PV GAS, encouraging its employees to continue “Fuelling Values to Life”.

In his congratulatory speech, PV GAS’ President & CEO – Mr. Pham Van Phong affirmed that 33 years was a tough but glorious journey for PV GAS to carry the light of energy, contributing to ignite the sustainable socio-economic flow across the regions of Vietnam. 

It all began with the company’s establishment in September 1990. Then, in April 1995, natural gas from Bach Ho oilfield was brought ashore, and Ba Ria Power Plant generated electricity with this source of energy for the first time. Since then, PV GAS has earned numerous notable achievements and had more systems go into operation, including Cuu Long, Nam Con Son 1, Nam Con Son 2, and Ham Rong - Thai Binh, along with gas processing plants, LPG storages, and more.

In 2023, PV GAS received the first LNG cargo into Vietnam and successfully commissioned Thi Vai LNG Terminal. This project has been nurtured by PV GAS for over a decade and now become a resounding testament, realizing the vision of generations of PVN/PV GAS leaders towards the national gas industry’s green and sustainable development. Moreover, in the face of difficulties and challenges ahead, the company will continue to steadfastly pursue its “Green Energy Journey”, aiming to strengthen its role in Vietnam's new energy strategy and contributing to realize the Government’s commitment to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.

Mr. Pham Van Phong also stated: "I urge all of us to follow the motto “Unity - Innovation - Professionalism – Action”, fulfilling the mission of providing clean energy for the country's development, contributing to national energy and food security. Together, we will continue to achieve new milestones, worthy of the trust of the Party, the State, and Vietnam Oil and Gas Group, as well as in line with the faith of the previous generations". PV GAS' President & CEO’s words triggered spontaneous applause from the employees, meaning they all agreed to follow his lead.
