Ceremony for Signing Agreement on Connection and Service for the gas delivery point number 2 between PetroVietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV Gas) and Nam Con Son pipeline Owners

On 29/08/2014, the Ceremony for Signing Agreement on Connection and Service for the Gas delivery point number 2 (TSA) between PetroVietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV Gas) and Nam Con Son pipeline Owners (Rosneft, Perenco and PV Gas) took place in Nha Trang city.

The participants and witnesses in the signing ceremony included Mr. Nguyen Sinh Khang - Vice President, representative leaders of relevant departments from Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group; Mr. Do Khang Ninh – President & CEO, Mr. Nguyen Trung Dan and Mr. Phan Quoc Nghia - members of the Board of Directors, the Board of Management of PV Gas and leaders of relevant departments and divisions from PV GAS; representatives of Nam Con Son pipeline Owners, including Mr. Hugh J.McInstoch - General Director of Rosneft Vietnam, Mr. Franck Poli - Chairman of Perenco Vietnam AS.

"The gas delivery point number 2" (also known as the Project on "Gas compensative delivery from Nam Con Son Gas Processing Plant to Dinh Co Gas Processing Plant) is a project on connection of the two most important gas systems in the Southeast region, located in An Ngai Commune, Long Dien District, Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province. This project can be considered as an effective and thorough "handshake" of the two systems for transmitting a part of the gas flow from Nam Con Son pipeline system to PV Gas’s Dinh Co GPP. With the gas flow of about one million cubic meters per day possibily delivered to Dinh Co GPP from NCS gas system, this project aims at optimizing the gas processing capacity of the two gas processing plants, harmonizing the gas supply sources, making full use of optimal capacity and efficiency of Nam Con Son and Cuu Long gas chains, ensuring the stable supply of gas and gas products for customers, especially the stable ethane supply for Long Son Petrochemical Complex. Besides, the project increases the flexibility in the operation process, in case of Nam Con Son GPP halting for periodical maintenance and repair or by a breakdown. This way, the project enables satisfying the growing gas demand of the market and ensuring the national energy security.

"The gas delivery point number 2" is a project of great importance in ensuring the flexible operation between NCS and Cuu Long gas systems, that promises to achieve practical results in the near future for PV Gas in particular and for the petroleum industry in general.

The Agreement on connection and service for "The gas delivery point number 2" is the legal basis for PV Gas and Nam Con Son pipeline Owners to connect and install new equipment in Nam Con Son GPP; and then to approve their coordination plan during the stage of new equipment operation.

Shortly after execution of the Agreement, PV Gas will carry out the construction and connection of the new equipment in an effort to receive the first gas flow from the Nam Con Son System to Dinh Co GPP by the first quarter of 2015. The estimated gas flow through "The gas delivery point number 2" in the formal operational stage could be reached 3 million cubic meters per day, at maximum.

Speaking at the ceremony, representative leaders of PVN, PV GAS, Perenco and Rosneft expressed their pleasure on the good and stable cooperation between the parties during the past time, as marked by the signing ceremony and wished to foster a stronger cooperation in the near future.
