At about 11h30 on August 23, 2013, a gas leak was discovered at delivery point with code KP75 of Nam Con Son gas pipeline system, approximately 300km away from Vung Tau City's coast.

To implement the social welfare programs of 2013 assigned by Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN) as well as to deploy social welfare programs of PV Gas in BR-VT in collaboration with People’s Committee of BR-VT province, PV Gas held a ceremony to hand over the sponsor worth 1 billion dongs for the charity health care program in the province. This program was handed over by the provincial People’s Committee to the Health Department for implementation in direct collaboration with PV Gas.

At 14h45 on August 5, 2013, after more than 3 years of development of Bien Dong 1 Project with many technologic challenges, Bien Dong Petroleum Operating Company (Bien Dong POC) – an affiliate of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group, officially pumped the first gas flow from Moc Tinh 1 (MT1) wellhead platform through a 20-kilometer pipeline system to the production and quarters platform – Hai Thach (PQP-HT). At 2h21 on August 7, 2013, condensate separated through the processing system was safely received by the floating storage and offloading (FSO). This important event marked the success of Bien Dong 1 Project.

To keep sponsoring social welfare programs of Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province, Petrovietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV GAS) – the operator of Nam Con Son Pipeline Company (NCSP), has committed on behalf of its partners in the business cooperation (including PV GAS, TNK, Conoco Phillips) in 2013 to sponsor the local implementation of practical projects.

Under the guidance of the Prime Minister on organizing activities in the “Month of Action Against Drug – June 2013”, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Vietnam Oil and Gas Group requested all units and members to respond to the “Month of Action Against Drug”, “International Day Against Drug”, and “All-people Day Against Drug” by implementing activities under different forms of action in June 2013: propagandizing the national anti-drug objective in 2012 – 2015’s period; propagandizing the effects of synthetic drugs; holding meetings and show of force; integrating propagation with cultural activities, arts, sports, seminars, trainings, special talk shows…; signing to commit not to store, trade, transport or use drugs, minimizing the harmful effects of drug; setting the examples of good people, good actions of the movement …

With the consent of PetroVietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation, implementing the instructions of PetroVietnam Gas Trading’s Party Cell and the action plan of the Executive Board of Youth Union Branch at grassroots level, PV GAS Trading has built the Compassion House for Ms. Tran Thi Mai’s family at Tan Phuoc Commune, Tan Thanh District, Ba Ria Vung Tau Province.

On June 8, 2013, PetroVietnam Gas South East Transmission Company (PV GAS SE) – a subsidiary of PV GAS- held the Conference on Safety – Health – Environment at Phan Thiet city, Binh Thuan province. The conference assessed results of PV GAS SE’s safety, health, and environment tasks in 2012 and identified existing problems, causes, experience and lessons in order to propose objectives and orientation in 2013 and beyond. The conference was also an opportunity for PV GAS SE’s divisions and related units of PV Gas to exchange and share experiences on safety – health – environment tasks.

The 2013 Football Award for Petroleum units in the Mekong Delta region held by PetroVietnam Trade Union to celebrate the Workers’ Month has come to an end with the championship prize awarded to PetroVietnam Gas Ca Mau. This was the fourth straight time that PetroVietnam Gas Ca Mau won the highest prize in the king of sports of Mekong Delta Petroleum industry.

Responding to the 2013 Workers’ Month and celebrating the success of the Fifth PetroVietnam Trade Union Congress, on June 5, 2013, the Trade Union of PetroVietnam Gas Ca Mau Company (PV GAS CAMAU) at grassroots level successfully held the second contest of hygienic and safety workers in 2013. Each team consisted of 5 members, including at least one hygienic and safety worker. The teams underwent three parts of contest including short play contest, knowledge contest (consisting of multiple choice questions and situation handling) on safety – labor hygiene – fire and explosive prevention and fighting, and first aid contest.

In the afternoon of 15/5, in Vung Tau City, the Petroleum Trade Union held a contest “The Petroleum Women with food culture” aimed at celebrating President Ho Chi Minh’s 123rd birthday, congratulating the success of the Fifth Petroleum Trade Union Congress, and implementing 2013 plan of the Female Worker activities of the Industry.

In 2012, there were 25 enterprises achieving the pre-tax profit of more than VND 500 billion on the overall stock market. In which, the large enterprise making the highest profit before tax was Petrovietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (with the stock name known as GAS) which contributed the pre-tax profit of over VND 12,000 billion.

On May 4, 2013, the Council of Science and Technology (CST) of PetroVietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV GAS) organized a meeting to get approval for initiatives on production rationalization for PV GAS in 2012.
