In the near future, PV GAS will inaugurate the 1 MMTPA Thi Vai LNG Terminal, marking a milestone when the very first LNG complex in Vietnam coming into operation.

By pioneering the importation of liquefied natural gas (LNG), PV GAS has officially placed Vietnam on the world's LNG map. In recent days, global energy experts have acknowledged Vietnam's emergence as a “newcomer” in the global LNG market, in the face predictions and concerns about price barriers and the ability to secure long-term contracts.

For over three decades, PV GAS has maintained its leading position in Vietnam's gas industry, as the flagship of PVN. However, its journey toward green energy has been a long and challenging one, beginning with the idea of importing LNG first conceived in 2007. Over 16 years, PV GAS has not only endeavored to ensure national energy security but has also been passionately committed to the energy transition. In the near future, PV GAS will inaugurate Vietnam's first and largest LNG terminal, affirming LNG will seamlessly integrate into PV GAS' value chains.
 

Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) has become an indispensable source of energy worldwide. Recognizing the pivotal role, it will play in Vietnam's gas industry, PV GAS has been a pioneer in LNG imports, contributing to the national energy security and promoting the development of domestic industries.

In October 2023, Petrovietnam Gas Corporation (PV GAS) will inaugurate and put Thi Vai LNG Terminal into operation. This is Vietnam's first and largest LNG complex, with an average throughput capacity of 1 million tons per annum (MTPA), and a maximum one of up to 1.5 MTPA in phase 1.

Vietnam Gas Association (VGA) recently organized a seminar titled "Recommendations to Decree on Government’s Management in Gas Business " at the headquarter of PV GAS. The seminar was chaired by Mr. Tran Minh Loan - Vice Chairman of VGA, Mr. Trieu Quoc Tuan - Member of PV GAS’ Board of, and Mr. Vo Tri Thanh - Director of The Institute of Brand and Competitiveness Strategy Vietnam. In attendance at the seminar were representatives from the Domestic Markets Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and more than 50 member companies of the Association, as well as various press and media agencies.

To ensure the safety and reliability of Nam Con Son 1 distribution and processing system, a turnaround for Operations and Maintenance (O&M) (Mini-TAR) is conducted every two years. In 2023, this event was successfully completed at the end of September.

Recently, Mr. Pham Van Phong – PV GAS President & CEO, chaired a working session between the leadership of PV GAS and CNG Viet Nam to discuss the unit’s performance in the first 9 months of 2023, as well as the directions for the remaining three.

Right on Petrovietnam Gas Corporation - PV GAS’ date of establishment (20/9/1990 – 20/9/2023), the anniversary celebration was held. A new promising chapter “Green Energy Journey” has been envisioned.

As part of its 33rd anniversary celebration, PV GAS participated in GRECO 2023, spreading the message of "Energy Solutions for Green Growth". Leaving a distinctive mark with a modern approach and the application of Industry 4.0 technology, PV GAS' exhibition booth was awarded the "Most Impressive Booth" prize.

PV GAS Trading has always been dedicating themselves day and night to diligently handle the delivery of each LPG vessel and lorry, ensuring the stable distribution of LPG throughout the national market. Ultimately, September 17, 2023 marked a significant milestone of PV GAS Trading: the company had accomplished its business production plan for 2023.
