PV GAS joins the social welfare program in Mekong Delta provinces
Responding to the Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign 2022 and as part of PV GAS Social Welfare Program, the Petrovietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV GAS) ‘s Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and its Executive Officer’s Trade Union on July 2 and 3 co-operated with the Ho Chi Minh University Medical Centre to carry out a free medical checkup and gift program for poor people in Kien Giang and An Giang provinces.
The delegation included more than 30 doctors and nurses from Ho Chi Minh University Medical Centre. It aimed to provide free medical checkup and give away medicine to 1,000 people in two provinces of Kien Giang and An Giang. With the coordination of local authorities, the delegation provided medical checkup, gave away medicine and handed over gifts to selected people who were the elderly, veterans, policy-covered families, those with disabilities, and ones with financial difficulties. Through the medical checkup, doctors timely detected and provided consultancy on how to prevent/treat several common public health diseases.
Joining the delegation, PV GAS representatives actively co-organized the program. The delegation handed over gifts including necessities to support families to overcome difficulties caused by diseases, and get long-term treatment.
This was among the helpful and practical activities which PV GAS Youth and the its Executive Officer’s Trade Union contributed to community health program and supported to improve the quality of life and health for the poor, and local policy-covered families still facing difficulties.
It is known that PV GAS has regularly coordinated and accompanied the Ho Chi Minh University Medical Centre in many community health programs for many years. Since 2017, PV GAS has donated VND 3.43 billion to the center for charity activities: checking up free health, giving away medicine and gift to people and building gratitude houses; more than VND7.1 billion to buy medical equipment and for COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control.
