PV Gas maintains the support program for students in flooded areas

On the occasion of 2012-2013 school year beginning, the Children Sponsorship Fund of Vietnam General Confederation of Labour in association with PetroVietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV Gas) maintains the program to present school bags also serving as life-saving buoys to students in wet lands, who are frequently threatened with the risk of drowning on the way to school.

In nearly all provinces, cities in the country, there are locations characterized with rivers, big streams, flood prone areas. Children's going to school here depends on waterways, under constant risks of drowning, which is the concern of local authorities and residents.
These school bags - life-saving buoys are unique invention, specially designed for students weighting 50kg and under. The bags are used to contain books and school supplies for children and at the same time serves as “life-saving buoys”, which can keep them afloat, if they have accident when moving onboard a boat. With this life-saving buoys - school bags, students will be better protected, their parents will feel more relieved when their children go to school.                           
The buoy - bag donation program has been carried out by the Children Sponsorship Fund of Vietnam General Confederation of Labour from 2008 and many children in wetlands have benefited from this program. So far, the program has received support from many sponsors, including PV Gas with donated fund of VND 1 billion in 2011. In this 2012, PV Gas committed to co-operate with the Fund to present 5,500 life-saving buoy - school bags, valued at VND 1 billion in total, to 5,500 students in 11 needy provinces: Thanh Hoa, Ha Tinh, Phu Tho, Thai Nguyen, Ninh Binh, Hung Yen, Hoa Binh, Lang Son, Dien Bien, Lai Chau, Ca Mau.
This is a practical social welfare activity, significant to children care and protection that PV Gas resolves to go ahead, reflecting the affection and responsibility for the development of the younger generation, the future of the nation.
