PV GAS attended the Concert Night of Hope Symphony
Following the success of “Hope Symphony” in Hanoi, in the evening of August 01st, 2014, a concert show on the topic of “The Autumn Tango” was held at the Theater of Ho Chi Minh City. The show raised more than 8 billion dong from sponsoring parties and domestic and foreign benevolent individuals.
Among the attendants in the second “Hope Symphony” show in Ho Chi Minh City, there were Mrs. Le Minh Ngoc, Vice President of Ho Chi Minh City Society of Learning Promotion; Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, member of the Members’ Council of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam; Mr. Nguyen Xuan Son, President of PV OIL, Standing Vice President of Managing Board of “Light Your Hope” Scholarship Foundation; Mr. Vu Huy An, member of the Management Board of PVCombank, Foundation Managing Board, and other members of the Foundation Managing Board – Board of Directors. Mr. Tran Hung Hien, Vice President of PV GAS attended the concert on behalf of the management of PV GAS, together with the sponsoring parties, including: PVcomBank, PV OIL, PTSC, PV Drilling, Hoang Long - Hoan Vu JOC, Bien Dong POC, Marubeni-Itochu Tubulars Asia Pte Ltd (MITA), FMC Technologies, Petrosetco, PV Trans, Truong Son & Thang Long JOC, Vietnam-Japan Joint Venture (VRJ), Cun Son JOC, Cuu Long JOC, Premier Oil Vietnam Offshore B.V, Rosneft Petroleum in Vietnam; as well as the attendance of more than 500 audience as benevolent people, representatives of organizations, and domestic and foreign individuals.
“Light Your Hope” Scholarship Foundation was founded on May 21st, 2007. After 3 years of operation in form of an internal fund, on January 06th, 2011, the Foundation was issued the official incorporation permit and had its charter of association in form of a cultural foundation by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Currently, the Foundation is managed and administered by Vietnam Public Joint Stock Bank (PVcomBank), PetroVietnam Oil Corporation (PV OIL), PetroVietnam Technical Services Corporation (PTSC), and PetroVietnam Drilling and Well Services Corporation (PVD), as well as under co-sponsorship of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group.
Over the past seven years, the Foundation has helped 650 students with especially difficult background with opportunities to realize dream about studying in universities and the belief to overcome their difficulties and fates. Until now, PV GAS has provided the Foundation with a sponsorship of 200 million dong.
Until now, there have been 200 students graduating from universities. Many of them have achieved successes in their career. Current scholarship offered to each university student is 11 million dong/year (for a student in the University and College of Education, the offer is 8 million dong/year), which is equivalent to the support granted by the Government to poor students. Scholarship is offered to the students during their study. Total value of scholarship offered by the Foundation over the last 7 years is 15 billion dong.
Hope Symphony” is organized with purposes to honor and pay tributes to benevolent individuals, as well as to raise joint-hand efforts of the community in offering scholarships to excellent students with poor conditions. The Foundation Managing Board has cooperated with the conductor, Mr. Le Phi Phi, and Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City Ballet Symphony Orchestra and Opera to perform “The Autumn Tango”.
This unique art performance was also attended by two artists from Macedonia and Serbia (The Violin artist L.Dobrevska and artist Bandoneon A.Nikolic). The famous Tango symphony together with the dance filled with excitement of the dancers brought back strong and impressive emotions and abundant emotions for the audience.
