Based on Decision No. 641-QD/DU and Decision No. 642-QD/DU dated June 2, 2023 by the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam or PVN) regarding personnel work of the Party Secretary and Deputy Party Secretary of PetroVietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV GAS) for the 2020-2025 term and Decision No. 2805/QD-HDTV dated April 26, 2023 of the Board of Directors (BOD) of PVN on authorizing the management of capital contribution of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group to PV GAS, along with the approval of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Group, on June 15, 2023, the Party Committee of PV GAS held an announcement ceremony focusing on their decisions on high-level candres.

The emerging Vietnam is going through a “green shift” in its production and manufacturing for economic growth in accordance with environmental protection. And PV GAS has what it takes to be pioneering in importing LNG - a bridging source of energy, ensuring the country’s energy security as well as promoting the development of domestic industries.

The global gas market has undergone drastic changes this past year. 2023 was said to be the first full calendar year of minimal Russian pipeline flows to Europe, causing heavy impacts on the rest of the global gas market right after the announcement. The most recognizable one was the abnormal fluctuations in LNG price levels due to the switch of traditional Russian pipeline buyers in Europe to the US and the Middle East – key LNG suppliers for Asian markets.

On Monday (5 June 2023), Forbes Vietnam announced the Top 50 Listed Companies in 2023. PV GAS has been honored in high position among the list for 11 years in a row since the reputable American business magazine first made it recognition on best enterprises in the country. This achievement implies that PetroVietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV GAS) has always been maintaining its position as the leading enterprise in Vietnam’s gas industry.

On Friday (02/6/2023), delegates from Siam Cement Group Chemicals Group (SCGC) led by Mr. Mongkol Hengrojanasophon - Executive Vice President & COO and Mr. Kulachet Dharachandra - CFO paid a visit to PV GAS’ headquarter for discussions regarding the supply of gas for the Southern Petrochemical Complex. Mr. Pham Van Phong, President & CEO at PV GAS, chaired the meeting.

Vietnam Report Joint Stock Company (Vietnam Report) has just announced the VIX50 Ranking - Top 50 prestigious and effective public companies of 2023. Among them, the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group has 6 units honored; Petrovietnam Fertilizers and Chemicals Joint Stock Company and Petrovietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation ranked in the Top20.

Basing on working requirements and cadre affairs, and approved by the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group, the Board of Directors (BOD) at Petrovietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV GAS) has announced the Resolution No. 58/NQ-KVN on the election of Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh - Member of the PV GAS Board of Directors as its Chairman. Whereas, the PV GAS Board of Directors also announced its Decision No. 668/QD-KVN on the appointment of Mr. Pham Van Phong - Member of the  PV GAS Board of Directors as the General Director of Petrovietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation.

Petrovietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV GAS) on May 25 held the 2023 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (GMS) to discuss and vote on the 2023 plan and other important contents under the decision-making authority of the GMS.

On May 22, 2023, Vietnam Gas Corporation (PV GAS) signed a Confirmation Notice with supplier Shell, whereby Shell will deliver the first LNG cargo to Vietnam. 

The delegation of the Commission for the Management of State Capital at Enterprises led by comrade Ho Sy Hung – its Vice Chairman on May 17 hosted a working session to discuss the gas supply for electricity generation at the Petrovietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV GAS)’s headquarters.

Leaders of the Trade Union at Petrovietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV GAS) and Petrovietnam Gas Projects Management Company (PV GAS PMC), Petrovietnam Gas Ca Mau company (PV GAS CAMAU) jointly held successfully the launching ceremony of Lung Say Bridge in Tan Hiep Loi B Hamlet, Tan Duc Commune, Dam Doi District, Ca Mau Province. This is one of the PV GAS social welfare programs.

Following the instruction of the Trade Union at Petrovietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV GAS), the launching ceremony of Workers' Month – Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) was held with the participation of units in the BR-VT province on the morning of the weekend, May 6, 2023.
