PVGAS is among the Nikkei Asia’s Top 300 Companies in 2018
On 15 August 2018, Nikkei Asian Review – the leading media in Japan, has announced the list of Nikkei Asia 300 Companies in which PV GAS is named as one of the 5 Vietnamese companies in the honorable list.
PV GAS is one among the 5 Vietnamese companies to be named in the list of Nikkei Asia 300 Companies, of which the others are FPT, Vietcombank, Vinamilk and VinGroup. The Asia 300 is Nikkei’s exclusive list of the biggest companies with business activities relating to finance, technology, food processing (milk), oil & gas and real estate contributing crucially to the national economic growth. These companies have been honored in the list of Nikkei Asia 300 Companies in the recent consecutive years.
PV GAS is evaluated as a company with high business efficiency and growth rates. Nikkei also appreciates PV GAS’s strategic vision and strategic deployment, becoming a leading enterprise specializing in whole gas value chain from upstream throughout midstream and downstream with various activities: gas processing, transporting, distributing, trading and providing of technical services. As the dominant player in Vietnam gas market, PV GAS has been recently looking for potential opportunity to invest into overseas gas projects in the purpose of securing LNG sources for LNG receiving and regasification terminal from 2023 onward. Besides, in 2017, PV GAS was the leading brand of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group, which was highly rated by many independent rating organizations in enterprises on Vietnam's stock market.
In 2017, PV GAS operated safely and efficiently the existing gas value chain, achieving an output of 2 - 41% (produced and supplied appx. 9.6 billion m3 of natural gas, appx. 1.5 million tons of LPG and 78 thousand tons of condensate) which overfulfilled the planned output. Completed financial indexes exceeded the annual target of 28 – 145 % with revenue of 65,957 billion and pre-tax profit of 12,588 billion, up 9 - 55% compared to 2016. As of 31 December 2017, PV GAS 'total assets reached nearly 62,000 billion VND. PV GAS continues to be among the top companies in PVN with high after-tax / equity ratio, reaching 23%, after-tax profit / charter capital ratio of 52%; continuing to supply stable gas to produce nearly 30% of electricity output, 70% of protein, 70% of LPG market share nationwide.
This year, 325 companies across Asia in total were listed in Nikkei Asia 300 Companies, in which, 81 enterprises are from China, 44 from India, 42 from South Korea, 40 from Taiwan. The Southeast Asian countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand all contributes over 20 enterprises to the list.
The Asia300 is Nikkei’s exclusive list of the biggest and fastest-growing companies from 11 economies across Asia. The choices are based on market capitalization with consideration also given to growth potential and geographic balance.
