PV GAS holds 2025 HSE Conference
Petrovietnam Gas Corporation (PV GAS) recently organized its 2025 Safety – Health – Environment (SHE) Conference to review achievements, shortcomings, and lessons from 2024 while outlining directions and measures for SHE implementation in 2025.
PV GAS President and CEO Pham Van Phong had a speech at the conference
In his opening remarks, Dr. Pham Van Phong – Deputy Party Committee Secretary, President and CEO of PV GAS – emphasized that safety and security remain the corporation’s top priority, guiding all production and business activities. He urged attendees to engage in open, constructive discussions to continuously improve SHE management across PV GAS and its units.
Discussions and presentations at the Conference
With 35 years of development, PV GAS has built a comprehensive gas industry infrastructure spanning collection, transportation, import, processing, storage, and distribution. Given the high-risk nature of the industry, where incidents could severely impact people, the environment, and assets, SHE has always been a cornerstone of PV GAS’ operations.
In 2024, as PV GAS transitioned to an integrated energy business model utilizing pipelines, waterways, roads, and railways, safety and quality control demands intensified. Domestic gas reserves declined, and aging fields increased upstream risks. Despite these challenges, PV GAS implemented practical solutions, achieving outstanding results while maintaining strong SHE performance, which contributed significantly to exceeding corporate targets.
PV GAS’ integrated Safety – Quality – Environment management system complies with ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018 standards. All gas systems operated safely in 2024, and maintenance during gas shutdowns was completed ahead of schedule, boosting revenue and profits. Key projects, such as Thi Vai LPG storage tanks and gas supply lines for Nhon Trach 3 and 4 power plants, were completed on time. Health and labor programs also improved, with enhanced periodic medical check-ups ensuring employee well-being.
The corporation maintained strong collaboration with local authorities, armed forces, industry partners, and stakeholders to safeguard gas facilities. Environmental protection remained stable, with no incidents reported.
Recognition of individuals excelling in promoting SHE at PV GAS
2025 marks a pivotal year for PV GAS, featuring major events like Party Congresses at all levels, the 35th anniversary of its founding, and the 2021–2025 review alongside 2026–2030 planning. To build on past SHE achievements, PV GAS will further prioritize safety as the foundation for successful annual and long-term strategies. The Conference honored five teams and 12 individuals with certificates of merit for their exceptional SHE contributions in 2024.
Industrial Safety Techniques and Environment Agency – Minister of Industries and Trade reaffirms partnership
The representative of the Industrial Safety Techniques and Environment Agency (under the Ministry of Industry and Trade) commended PV GAS’ SHE accomplishments and reaffirmed the Agency’s commitment to supporting the corporation in safety, fire prevention, and explosion control. He expressed confidence in PV GAS’ continued growth as a pillar of Vietnam’s national energy industry.
In his closing speech, Mr. Hoang Trong Dung – Vice President of PV GAS – thanked attendees for their valuable contributions.
