PV GAS donates two more fresh water filtration systems to Ben Tre Province to respond to drought and saltwater intrusion

Petrovietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV GAS) on March 15 co-operated with Authority and People in the Mekong Delta province of Ben Tre to organize a ceremony at Tan Hao Water Sypply Plant in the province’s Giong Trom District to hand over and put two fresh water filtration systems into use at two water supply plants in the province.

The RO fresh water filtration systems worth VND2.2 billion, donated by PV GAS to the province in this year, would help the latter respond to drought and saltwater intrusion. The system with the filtration capacity of 10 cubic metres per hour was granted to the water supply plant in the Giong Trom District’s Tan Hao Commune and the other with the capacity of 8 cubic metres per hour for the water supply plant in Mo Cay District’s Tan Thanh Binh Commune. The systems would filter saline water and brackish water into fresh water for local people to use.

Previously, in 2020, when drought and salwater intrusion in the province became severe, PV GAS also donated two fresh water filtration systems to two water supply plants in communes of Tien Thuy and Chau Hoa, helping timely provide fresh water to people in the province’s affected areas.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Mai Ri- Vice Chairwoman of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in the province, on behalf of the local people, expressed their deep gratitude to PV GAS Board of Directors and employees for timely and practical support in helping the province respond to the drought season in 2021 and next many years.
