Signing the offshore pipeline EPC contract under Nam Con Son 2 Gas Pipeline Project – Phase I and EpCI framework agreement under Dai Hung Gas Gathering Project
In the afternoon of 09/5/2014, at the headquarter of Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group, the signing ceremony for the offshore pipeline EPC contract under Nam Con Son 2 Gas Pipeline Project – Phase 1 between PetroVietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV GAS) and Joint Venture “Vietsovpetro” (VSP) and the EpCI framework agreement under Dai Hung Gas Gathering Project between PetroVietnam Exploration Production Corporation (PVEP) and VSP took place.
Nam Con Son 2 Gas Pipeline worth US$1.3 billion in total investment capital, covering: 325 km offshore pipeline, 30 km onshore pipeline and the Gas Processing Plant (GPP) is the national key project in oil and gas industry, and important infrastructure facilities in the infrastructure formation and completion of Vietnam gas industry by 2015 with orientation to 2025. The complex project consists of component projects: Nam Con Son 2 Gas Pipeline Project – Phase 1 (pre-building of nearly 151 km 26’’ pipeline of NCS2 project from Thien Ung oil rig to Bach Ho Field); Dai Hung gas gathering project; project for upgrading Bach Ho Field infrastructure facilities to receive gas from Thien Ung – Dai Hung. This is the biggest and most complicated gas processing project in terms of specifications and progress requirements ever implemented by Vietnamese companies themselves.
Addressing the ceremony, Mr. Do Van Hau – President & CEO – emphasized that Nam Con Son 2 Gas Pipeline Project was the challenging and largest project to date of PVN, requiring close and urgent co-operation between member companies. PetroVietnam leadership was delighted to see PV GAS, PVEP and VSP entering into the agreement for project implementation and hoped the member companies to make more effort and focus, cooperating with each other more closely and effectively, closely following the planned schedules, promoting the initiative spirit for the project targets, resolved to complete the project with quality, on schedule and on budget. PVN leadership will set up a permanent team to closely monitor this complex project, ensuring smooth cooperation among the member companies.
On behalf of PVN leadership, Mr. Do Van Hau – President & CEO – expressed thanks to PV GAS, PVEP, VSP, negotiation groups and the relevant units for their efficient work leading to cooperation among PVN’s members. The President & CEO also wished the successful cooperation to the partners in the project so that we would have the new gas source by Quarter III, 2015 to serve the consumption complexes in the Southern region.
Also at the ceremony, Mr. Do Khang Ninh – President & CEO of PetroVietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV GAS) – reported on the progress of Nam Con Son 2 Gas Pipeline Project and asked the contractor, Vietsovpetro Joint Venture (VSP) to assure the progress and quality of the entire works. On this occasion, on behalf of PV GAS, Mr. Do Khang Ninh also thanked to leaders of the Government, ministries, departments, divisions, Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group for their close guidance and facilitation in support of PV GAS’ project implementation.
Representive of the contractor, Mr. Tu Thanh Nghia, General Director of Vietsovpetro Joint Venture (VSP), on behalf of all VSP personnel, expressed the honor and pride for being assigned as the main contractor of two component projects under Nam Con Son 2 Gas Pipeline Project by PV GAS. Also, Mr. Tu Thanh Nghia, acting for all VSP personnel involed in this project, commited best effort to ensure the project progress and quality in compliance with law regulations.
