PV GAS donates VND1.5 billion to K Hospital’s Covid-19 prevention and control in Ha Noi
With the "Mutual affection and love” spirit, Petrovietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV GAS) donated VND1.5 billion to K Hospital to support frontline health workers and patients in the fight against Covid-19.
In May, Covid-19 has broken out in the country’s many provinces and cities with the rapid increase of incidences day by day. K Hospital’s branch in Ha Noi’s Tan Trieu commune specifically was locked down under the direction of the National Steering Committee for Disease Prevention and Control, with more than 3,000 isolated people including 1,200 patients, 800 their relatives, and more than 1,000 health staff. The lockdown lasted until the end of May.
Because of the complex and unpredictable Covid-19 evolution, K Hospital’s all staff had taken efforts in preventing from the spread of coronavirus and continuing to treat cancer patients. The hospital needed the assistance to continue the fight against Covid-19 outbreak at its facility as well as healthcare service for community.
With the "Mutual affection and love” spirit, the determination of providing assistances for frontline health workers and patients at the K Hospital in the fight, PV GAS donated VND 1.5 billion to the former. The money amount was from the Corporation’s social welfare fund in 2021. Because of ensuring safety in the lockdown period, they did not organize a donation ceremony. Under their agreement, the donation was used to buy food and protective clothing for thousands of patients, their relatives and health staff.
PV GAS in last year donated more than VND5 billion for the Covid-19 prevention and control programs nationwide. It and its affiliated units and members in this year also have co-operated with local authorities to organize programs on blood donation, presenting masks and sanitizers for voting sites, and free health examination and treatment for families with financial difficulties in the country’s remote areas.
