PV GAS VT co-operates with relevant agencies to organise a response drill for problems relating to port security and oil spills in 2020

PetroVietnam Gas Vungtau Processing Company (PV GAS VT) on May 22 co-operated with the port management authorities to organise an assessment meeting and an annual response drill for problems relating to port security and oil spills in 2020.  

The drill was held at PV GAS Vung Tau Port in Cai Mep Industrial Park in Phu My Town in Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province, with the attendance of more than 100 people including many different forces, ambulances, patrol boats, oil spill response vessels and devices for fire fighting, preventing from oil spills, collecting oil and rescuing.

A supposed situation was that strangers used boats to illegally enter the port’s important areas to steal in the bad weather. However, the port’s operators and guards found out and carried out initial activities to prevent from stealing in time while they called for help from the border post and Cai Mep waterway police to suppress and seize violators to ensure safety and security for the port.    

The drill was organised successfully, ensuring safety for attendees, vehicles, and devices. Delegates taking part in the drill highly evaluated for professionalism in organisation and high expert of the port’s forces in the response to problems relating to port security. The supposed situation was assessed to have high practicability. Devices and forces in the drill ensured readiness. The implementation and co-operation between forces were good, matching with the scenario. The drill met requirements and was suitable with the port security planning.
